METAL PULP AND PAPER: First off, are you excited to be a part of this year’s Monster Energy Aftershock Festival? It’s two days, and 35 bands in beautiful Sacramento, California?
DEAN PLEASANTS: Yes , I am very excited about this upcoming festival it should be a good time with great bands
MPAP: Do you enjoy playing Festivals?
DEAN: Yes !! As you know we play festivals in Europe all the time so getting to play one in sunny California is always a good thing!
MPAP: What are some of the best things, the highlights about being a part of a Festival and playing at one this large?
DEAN: Well , all the great bands that will be on the bill, and also getting to play in front of people that might not have a chance to see us on a regular basis , also we get the chance to see cool bands as well.
MPAP: Is there anything you like to do when you’re playing at a weekend long Festival? Do you go hang out with the other bands, go mingle with the fans, or just relax on the tour bus?
DEAN: I like to do a mixture of both myself. A little hanging out and a bit of chilling out! But mainly being ready to get on stage and do what we do best ,that is being suicidal.
MPAP: This year’s bill has Ozzy Osbourne, Nine Inch Nails, A Perfect Circle, Five Finger Death Punch, along with many others, including Stone Sour, Highly Suspect, Gojira, and Code Orange. Is there anyone you’re looking forward to watch from the side stage?
DEAN: Yes of course!! Ozzy , Stone Sour!! And of course if there is time to catch any of the other bands that would be great they're all amazing!
MPAP: What’s in the crosshairs for Suicidal Tendencies after the Monster Energy Aftershock Festival? Another tour, more shows? Time off? New music by any chance?
DEAN: Yes we are working on more shows ! Ones that are cool for us and make sense to do ! And also reaching new people!! We have always got something cooking in the oven ha ha ha ha. Stay tuned.
