METAL PULP AND PAPER: Hello Su-Metal and Moametal. We are so glad to be catching up with you. Thank you for taking the time to answer a few questions for Metal Pulp And Paper about the upcoming 2019 Aftershock Festival that you are slated to be playing at in Sacramento, California coming this October. Aftershock is a monstrous event for music fans and music lovers everywhere. It’s metal, it’s rock and roll, it’s more metal, and it’s more rock and roll. To sum it up, it’s a three-day event with three stages, with over 50 artists at the Discovery Park in beautiful Sacramento, California.
Now tell us some of the best things about being a part of a music festival, especially playing at one of this magnitude?
SU-METAL: For festivals, there are a lot of people who have never seen BABYMETAL and so at first, I can tell these people are just in awe of our performance. But over the course of our performance, seeing these people looking more relaxed and enjoying our performance is always something that makes me happy. I hope that a lot of people enjoy our performance at Aftershock!
MPAP: This year’s bill has Slipknot, Staind, Tool, Korn, along with many others, including Lamb Of God, Highly Suspect, Gojira, and Marilyn Manson. Is there any group that you’re especially looking forward to watching from the side stage the day you perform?
MOAMETAL: There are so many artists who we look forward to seeing. I do recall that when we last saw Rob Zombie performing, I was amazed at his energy, so I want to see his performance again. I also would like to see Gojira. And other artists I’m looking forward to seeing is Korn again as we had the opportunity to be a support act for their tour in 2017. Also, we’ve met Slipknot and Marilyn Manson at past festivals so can’t wait to see them again!
MPAP: What’s in the crosshairs for BABYMETAL after the festival? What else do you have going on after that we should all know about?
BABYMETAL: After Aftershock Festival, we have headline shows in Portland and Seattle. After the conclusion of our US Tour, we will have arena shows in Japan in November with Bring Me The Horizon as our guest act.
MPAP: On behalf of myself and Metal Pulp And Paper, thank you, Su-Metal and Moametal, for taking the time to answer a few questions. We look forward to what BABYMETAL does to finish out 2019 and beyond.
